Can you work alongside my conventional healthcare team?

Absolutely. I believe in whatever type of care is appropriate for you at a given time. I am trained to identify interactions and contraindications between your conventional treatment/pharmaceuticals and any natural therapies that I use, and am happy to work with your entire healthcare team.

Are services covered by extended health insurance or health plans?

Yes! Many, but not all, health insurance companies cover naturopathic medicine and even the cost of food and allergy testing. These companies include: Health Shield, Medicash, Pure Benefits, Westfield Health and Elect.

It’s always best to check with your provider as to the amount of coverage, as most have a maximum allowable amount per year. All you have to do is submit your paid receipt from your visit(s) to your company.

What can I expect on my first few visits?

The initial consultation is up to 60 minutes. An intake form will have been emailed to you at the time of booking, and it’s important to have completed the form prior to your appointment. You will also need to provide a list of current medications, and copies of any recent bloodwork, scans or other test results.

The aim of the initial consultation is to gain a thorough understanding of your health concern and determine the root cause(s). We will discuss what has brought you to naturopathic medicine, your medical history, and your lifestyle.

Treatment begins on this initial visit and varies depending on your specific situation. This may include nutrition, acupressure/acupuncture, supplements, herbal medicine, spinal adjustments or homeopathy.

Follow-up visits are 30min or 45min and are usually booked every 3-6weeks, with longer intervals as symptoms recede.

After every appointment you can expect written, detailed instructions outlining your treatment plan - no need to try and remember it all during the appointment!

When will I feel better?

Naturopathic medicine works to resolve the root cause of your symptoms for long-lasting results and resilience. This can take time, and depends on how long you’ve been experiencing symptoms, overall vitality and willingness to jump into the treatment plan.

You can expect a steady “turning down the volume” on your symptoms as we work together to bring your body back into balance.
