Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), an ancient art that goes back over 3000 years. Life-force or Qi (pronounced "Chi") flows along certain lines or meridians in the body, the way blood flows through arteries and veins. Illness and dis-ease occur when the flow of Qi is interrupted or unbalanced. Acupuncture uses small, thin needles inserted at specific locations on the body to rebalance the flow of Qi, thus returning the body to a state of health.

Once inserted, needles are left in place for approximately 20minutes while you relax on the treatment table.

For optimal results, weekly sessions for 3-4 weeks are recommended.

Cupping

Fascia is a type of connective tissue that wraps around and through every muscle, organ and bone in our body. Think of it like a layer of cling wrap between all of our internal body parts, helping them slide and glide when we breathe and move. With tension, injuries or scars, the fascia can get stuck or develop adhesions, hindering movement and blood flow.

Using gentle suction, cupping lifts the skin, separating the layers of fascia below. This allows the muscles to relax and restores normal blood flow,  increasing the supply of nutrients and oxygen to the area and removal of waste.

Cupping can benefit anyone, from those with an acute illness to people with chronic back or muscle tension and pain.
